Waterbury Teens Charged with Drug Possession at Pomperaug

Police charged two Waterbury teens with loitering and drug possession at Pomperaug High School Monday.

A suspicious vehicle led to a drug search during school hours at Pomperaug High School on Monday.

Police noticed a strange vehicle parked in student parking at Pomperaug High School, 234 Judd Road, Southbury, Monday afternoon while school was in session.

The two young men in the car claimed to be picking up a student, but were unable to provide police with a name, according to the police report.

After a drug-sniffing dog was brought in, a subsequent search found a small quantity of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia in the car, police said.

Driver Zachary Ladzinski and passenger Kenneth Duprey, both 18 and from Waterbury, were charged with loitering on school grounds. Ladzinski was also charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both men were released on $1000 non-surety bonds and will appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 12.
