Questions Over Public Works Billing Practices Raised in Southbury

First Selectman is upset the issue was broached publicly.

There’s now a “pall” over the Public Works Department, says First Selectman Edward Edelson. 

During a recent Board of Selectmen meeting, Republican Selectman Ken Korsu said he received a complaint about the Highway Department’s bidding process and requested the selectmen approve a committee to investigate, the Waterbury Republican-American reports. 

But Edelson and Democrats wanted to learn more about the complaint behind closed doors before agreeing to form the committee, the paper reports.

Edelson told the Republican-American that he was disappointed that the matter was discussed publicly and it needlessly casts a dark cloud over the entire department.
