Selectman Candidate: Southbury Board Lacks Political Partnership

Open letter from Southbury Republican Selectman candidate Ken Korsu.

Voters,

I am seeking your support as I place my name into consideration for the position of Selectman, Town of Southbury, for the forthcoming 2013 fall election.  Our town needs strong and sincere representation on the Board of Selectmen who is devoid of political partisanship. I can make considerate but critical decisions in times of financial stress and will affect positive changes in being your watchdog on town expenditures.  I will always strive to spend our taxpayer money wisely and conservatively.

To affirm my commitment, to my goal I have taken the following steps to get better educated on town government and important fiscal matters.  For years I made it a point to attend many of the Board of Selectmen public meetings. I volunteered and served for years on the Board of Finance and The Retirement Plan Oversight Committee.

Because of my concern for Southbury’s financial strength and long term viability I have been a member of the Southbury Business Association. From this experience I learned about Southbury business needs and where government can play a better supporting role.

As a resident of Southbury for the past thirty one plus years I have seen and whole heartedly supported Southbury’s steady growth and progressive development. My wife Mary and I are extremely pleased that our four children grew up here and were well educated in our regional school system.  Looking ahead, trying to keep the regional school system operating efficiently and effectively will be a challenge and one that will need proper stewardship.  You can count on me to be ever vigilant.

If nominated and elected I will deal with important issues and endeavor to be a respected and trustworthy representative for all town residents.

Signed,

Ken Korsu
