Southbury First Selectman Walks Out of a Meeting

The topic was on the district's animal control department.

Southbury First Selectman Edward Edelson and Democratic Selectwoman Donna J. Pereira walked out of a Board of Selectmen meeting Thursday night.
The topic that sent them over the edge focused on Animal Control. A Republican selectwoman wanted to publicly discuss Assistant Animal Control Officer Martha Stephens complaint that the town would not reimburse her $595 for training, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.
Edelson has said she is not eligible for reimbursement. Republicans also wanted to discuss allowing Stephens administrative access to the Animal Control's Facebook page.
Edelson insisted it was a personnel matter and left the meeting essentially ending it, the Republican-American reports.
