Southbury Launches New Volunteer Page

Thinking of volunteering in Southbury? Part of an organization that could use volunteers? The town's website has a new forum dedicated to just that.

A new volunteer opportunities page has been launched on the town website this month providing up-to-date volunteer information for all Southbury residents.

The volunteer page is the latest addition to the town’s ever developing website. This new feature allows residents to see the ways they can help in town by serving on boards or commissions, helping local organizations, planning events and more.

“Southbury’s website is a wealth of information, most of which is posted on a daily basis," said Town Webmaster Gosia Liedlich. "That’s why we offer a variety of tools to help residents, and anybody interested, stay in the loop."

Southbury organizations are encouraged to submit their volunteer needs throughout the year using the volunteer submission form that is available on the page. The volunteer opportunities page can be found in the Community Services section.

“Our goal is not only to post the variety of information that is current and relevant to our town but also to give residents, businesses, organizations and visitors a variety of ways to access this information”, said First Selectman Ed Edelson.
