Which CT Towns Pay the Most State Taxes?

Mapping Connecticut by state income tax paid per capita.

Less related to patriotism than this week’s theme — tax collection — the map above shows Connecticut broken out by state income tax paid per capita (by number of returns filed).

Fairfield County towns make up all but one of the Top 10 (with New Haven County’s Woodbridge in at No. 9) and the state’s major cities pay the lowest per capita, with Bridgeport and Hartford at 168 and 169, respectively.

While color-coded by state income tax, the map above also has information on each town’s local tax collection rate.

Find out more about that metric here, including lists of the towns with the highest and lowest rates, as well as a discussion on the patriotism of taxes.
