Southbury's Best Auto Mechanic: Who Is It?

If your car needs to be fixed, who do you go to first and why?

Trust. It's one of the most important considerations when choosing an auto mechanic: we want to be able to trust that the business owner we turn to will do the job right, on time, and not charge us an arm and a leg.

Whether the dreaded engine light pops on, your car breaks down or it's just a regularly scheduled tune-up, we want to know where you, the Southbury experts, go to get your car fixed.

Your answers will help other Southbury residents find the best auto mechanic in town and you'll be supporting local businesses, too! So vote for your favorite in this week's Readers' Choice contest and don't forget to rate and review the business by clicking on its name below.

Here's our starter list (let us know if we missed anyone):

Clark Howard says "Best auto insurance rates go to those who shop around" ofcourse the place i go is "Clearance Auto" rates

None of the above. Everyone knows that Brian at Corrigan Motors is the best mechanic in Southbury!

I fix my car myself. Best mechanics are shade tree guys who can not afford rates at the shops. When you work on your car you take your time to do it right and dont have to deal with client asking why it took so long to fix this.

Parsell's garage was highly recommended to us by friends and neighbors when we moved here and have not been disappointed. They do only what's necessary at a fair price, giving one confidence in their work.

If you value FAIR PRICING and HONESTY, Parsell's Garage is THE place to go. We have been bringing our vehicles to Parsell's for over eight years now with nothing but great service and an extremely friendly Jim Parsells behind the desk. Even if pricing were higher, the mere fact that you can drop your car off and not worry about someone trying to sell you a battery with an oil change(an exaggeration, but I'm sure you get my drift) makes it worth stopping in. I'm sure once you give Jim a try you won't go anywhere else. Go Jim !

For all you who voted Parsells read the police blotter!! Is this what we call honesty... Auto Body Worker Takes Cash Ronald Martone Jr., 31, of Waterbury was charged with sixth degree larceny on Friday, May 18 at approximately 2 p.m. According to police reports, a Southbury man lost his wallet at Parsell’s Auto and Martone, a Parsell’s employee, found it. Martone took the money from the victim’s wallet and placed it in his own wallet and did not report finding the wallet. Martone was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 1.

It has little to do with the owner's of Parsell's and their ability to fix cars that an employee took money as the article states he didn't report finding the wallet to the police or his bosses. We have been using them for years, they are very honest, reliable and Jimmy has lived in Southbury all his life

Jimmy at Parsell's is the most honest person you will find in town. He is very reliable and knows his stuff. I would recommend him highly to everyone!

#1. As Ms. Smith said, "it has little to do with their ability to fix cars", but I"m sure the issue is more about honesty. For me personally, eight years of HONEST SERVICE cannot be wiped out by one incident that he had no knowkedge of. #2. I noticed that Jim recently advertised for a new mechanic, maybe this is the new hire? #3. I noticed you quoted everything from the news article EXCEPT the disclaimer: "the following arrest information was supplied by the Southbury Police Department it does indicate a CONVICTION". You call for a " new adminisration" in effect trying to ruin a good man's reputation that has taken years to build, yet you don't have the decency to leave your name. Could you be a competitor? #4. No, I am in no way related to Mr. Parsells, or even a friend, in case youare wondering, just a customer who doesn't think what you said was very fair. Nice try though.
