In Wake of Two Students' Deaths, Pomperaug District Offering Support

Region 15 community mental health counselors will be available to students and parents to help cope with the tragic news.

The Pomperaug School District released the following statement in response to news that a car accident Saturday claimed the life of Charlie M. Campoverde, 20, and Aryana J. Youngquist, 17.

"It is with deepest regret that we announce a tragedy regarding a current student and a recent graduate from Pomperaug High School over the weekend. At this time, we are working to support our school community in advance of classes resuming on Monday."

"Spectrum Behavioral PC, Region 15's community mental health outreach service, will be available on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to support parents and students. They are located at 1287 Strongtown Road, Southbury, across from Crowne Plaza Hotel."

"If support is required beyond those hours, counselors are available by calling Spectrum at 203-819-7580. As needed, additional support will also be provided when students return to school on Monday."
