When and how did your business get started?
Bob and Lois Nelson have a distinct passion for serving those who need help to maintain safe, independent and dignified lifestyles. This passion led them to join the Always Best Care family of care providers in 2010 and it set the strong foundation where every member of the staff holds trust, honor and respect for the individual in the highest regard.
Why did you choose to start your business in Southbury?
Lois and Bob Nelson have lived here since the mid-80's. "It's home."
What is your business best known for?
Whether accompanying clients to the ER and staying with them to be their support and advocate, escorting them to doctor appointments or on shopping trips, preparing special meals for them, or providing one-on-one updates for long distance families, we support the bigger picture of client care. We also know the importance of keeping families in the loop on care needs and other observations which require their involvement and are often the ‘go to’ agency for families who live long distances from their loved ones.
What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?
Always Best Care of Western CT offers a ‘bigger picture’ philosophy. We have built our reputation by providing one of the highest levels of individualized and customized care in today’s market. Besides regular in-home care, we are able to supplement the temporary needs of people wherever they find themselves needing help. We also realize that ‘in-home care’ sometimes means help while a person in a rehabilitation facility needs special attention, or a person in an Assisted Living Community requires more assistance than the regular staff can provide
