Southbury Land Trust Hike

Enjoy a hike through the Heritage Village Wildlife Refuge on Sunday, October 10th.  The Southbury Land Trust will lead hikers through pristine woodlands of rare ferns, dramatic rock outcroppings, showy wildflowers and deciduous forest at peak foliage.  Part of a greenway that extends from Platt Farm all the way to Janie Pierce Park, this trail is well blazed and mainly level.  But, for the adventurous, there are a couple of optional, challenging and interesting tangents.

The public is welcome, Southbury Land Trust membership is not a requirement to join the hike.   Appropriate footwear is recommended and light refreshments will round out the afternoon.

Hikers should meet at the Southbury Town Hall lower parking lot on Main Street South at 1:30 for carpooling to the site.  For further information, call 203-264-4441.  Also, in the event of rain, call late Sunday morning for a cancellation message.
