The outstanding play of the Pomperaug boys’ soccer team has begun to garner national attention.
According to the latest NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) poll the Panthers are the #16 ranked team in the nation with an undefeated mark after 11 games.
PHS came into the week with a record of 8-0. After notching a tie with rival Brookfield the squad earned victories over Naugatuck and Oxford to improve to 10-0-1. The Panthers did not give up a goal in all three matches.

Their current mark puts them near the top of the Class ‘LL’ rankings and first in the SWC conference with under two weeks remaining in the regular season.
Pomperaug will take to the pitch tomorrow evening, October 15, to square off against Notre Dame – Fairfield at 7 p.m.
