PHS Girl's Basketball Gears up for State Tournament

Panthers enter CIAC State Tournament as #2 seed.

The Pomperaug High School girl’s basketball squad is entering the CIAC Class ‘L’ state tournament as the second seed and amongst the favorites to take home a state championship.

The Panthers (18-2) are coming off an SWC tournament championship game loss to Laurelton Hall, the only team that managed to defeat PHS this season.

Pomperaug earned a bye in the opening round of the tournament and await the winner of #15 Darien (12-8) and #18 Farmington (11-9). The Panthers will host the victor on Friday Mar. 2 at 7 p.m.

The top seed in the Class ‘L’ bracket is undefeated E.O. Smith Fellow SWC schools Brookfield, Masuk, Bunnell and Joel Barlow are also in the 25 team field.
