PHS Girl’s Basketball Seeks Spot in State Semis

Pomperaug girl's basketball hosts state quarterfinal game tonight.

The Pomperaug girl’s basketball team will attempt to take another step towards a state championship as they host a state quarterfinal match tonight.

The Panthers will face off against #7 RHAM (16-5) at 7 p.m. at Pomperaug with a birth in the state semifinals up for grabs.

The winner of the matchup will play the winner of a Thursday night game between #3 Bacon Academy (19-2) and #22 Brookfield (11-11).

PHS is the #2 seed in the 25-team Class ‘L’ field. The top seed, #1 E.O. Smith (21-0), has also advanced to the quarters.
