Pomperaug Girl’s Basketball One Win From State Finals
PHS advances to state semifinals with win over RHAM.
The Pomperaug girl’s basketball team advanced to the Class ‘L’ state semifinals with a commanding win over visiting RHAM.
The Panthers downed #7 RHAM 68-53 Thursday night and moved within two wins of a state championship. PHS will now take on #3 Bacon Academy, who defeated #22 Brookfield 59-42 last night. The semifinal matchup will take place on Monday March 12 at 6 p.m. at Buckley High School in Hartford.
The winner of that game will earn a spot in the state championship final and a date with the winner of #1 E.O. Smith and #4 Berlin.
