Holiday Book Sale, Evening with Santa Scheduled This Week

Mark your calendars! Here are a few events scheduled for the week ahead in Southbury.

Monday, December 2

The Annual Holiday Book Sale at the Southbury Public Library, 100 Poverty Road, Southbury, begins at 9:30 a.m. and will continue through December 24. The event is sponsored by The Friends of the Southbury Public Library, Inc. For more information, please call Chris Tolley at 203-262-6855.

Singer and star Tony Orlando will appear at a Meet & Greet to benefit the non-profit Dora's Hope at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 1284 Strongtown Road, Southbury. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., and advanced tickets are required. Please call 203-982-8210.

Wednesday, December 4

A Blue Christmas Service of Rememberance will be held at The United Church of Christ, 283 Main St. North, at 7:30 p.m. The service is free and open to those who would like to honor a deceased loved one, as well as those who seek support during the holidays. Thursday, December 5

Want some help wrapping those holiday gifts? The Junior Friends of the Southbury Public Library will host a Wrapping Event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the library, 100 Poverty Road, Southbury. Donations will benefit Southbury Animal Control.

Friday, December 6

The Southbury Women's Club will host "An Evening with Santa" at Rochambeau Middle School from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event includes crafts, games, performances, and photos with Santa. Proceeds will benefit the Region 15 PTO Perpetual Fund. Tickets are $5 at the door.
