Besides unethical, what else is John Monteleone?

The Southbury Republicans have endorsed a candidate who self admittedly has no record and no experience to run on for first selectman.  With their history, this is not surprising. Back in the 80's  Harmon Andrews, known as one of the worst first selectmen in Southbury history became the first 1 term republican to lose to a democrat.  With that background and credibility, Andrews wrote a letter in yesterdays Voices supporting Monteleone who last week told attendees at a candidate forum that a government shutdown is good for the markets. Apparently he forgot about the country having a credit downgrade during the last republican led nightmare with our federal budget and debt ceiling.

A letter was printed on the Patch on September 4, 2013  http://southbury.patch.com/groups/opinion/p/dueling-letters  authored by Drew Morten highlighting a plagiarized letter written by both Monteleone (published in the Heritage Villager) and former selectman John Turk (published in the Voices). The letter written by one/both or someone else and they just signed it (Ethical issue #1), endorsed a proposed movie theater project in Southbury. Mr. Morten advised us that in talks with the developer was the Main Street Theater Co in Woodbury with whom Monteleone has a relationship. Ethical issue #2.

Two days ago, Friday October 4th there was a fundraiser held for Monteleone by a long time republican town committee member and attorney Gail McTaggart.  McTaggart according to town Economic Development Records

is the attorney for the developer of the proposed theater that Monteleone has written a letter supporting.

The republican candidate for first selectman just had a fundraiser held for him by the attorney representing the developer of a proposed movie theater in town that Monteleone signed a letter to the editor supporting.  Quid Pro Quo?  Shocking? Not at all, this is Southbury Republican politics as it's been for decades. These people have no shame.
