The Southbury Volunteer Firemen's Association is Southbury's emergency first response team in the case of fires. The association is comprised of more than 70 active members. The group was founded in 1932 and currently maintains a fleet of vehicles that includes five pump trucks, three water tankers and a 102-foot tall aerial tower-ladder. Rick Lyle is the Fire Chief. As with any other emergency service, the fire department can be contacted at 911 in the case of a crisis.
